Orphan Care at The Mount
The church a has clear directive from scripture to be about caring for orphans. The Apostle James writes to the church encouraging them to "be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves". James goes on to give an example, inspired by the Holy Spirt, of what this looks like... an example of true Christianity and he writes...
"Religion that is pure and undefiled before God the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unstained from the world."
God is at work in our church through adoption and orphan care. Over the recent years, family after family have been led to adopt or help care for orphans in some way. One of the things we want to do as a church is celebrate and promote orphan care. On Friday, March 3 from 6:30-8:00 PM, we are going to host our next Orphan Care Fellowship in the Student Center.
